About Us
Welcome to Chi-Pie, where culinary delights meet Simpsonville, KY. We have been serving the greater area since 2025. Specializing in a unique fusion of flavors, our bar offers a cozy ambiance where you can enjoy handcrafted cocktails alongside our signature pizzas and delectable pasta dishes. Our Story
When I moved to Chicago in 1999, I was chasing life—something new and exciting. One
of my first memories? A trip to the grocery store. I was so overwhelmed and intimidated,
that I had groceries delivered for months. Small-town boy meets big city.
But like so many others, I fell in love with Chicago, its quirky neighborhoods, each one
feeling like its own small town, full of pride, character and…characters. I landed in
Bucktown, in a corner pizza shop, living and breathing pizza for the next two decades.
My Pi was one of Chicago’s most beloved spots for deep dish and tavern-style pizza
since the early ’70s. While there, I was lucky to work with Chef Rich. Rich was an
award-winning chef who had left fine dining to return to his roots in the family pizza
business. From him, I learned not just how to make great pizza, but why it matters. My Pi
wasn’t just deep dish or thin crust—it was pride, passion, and tradition.
Chicago-style pizza has always been more than one thing. There’s deep dish, created in
the 1940s (often credited to Pizzeria Uno) where the crust rises tall like the city skyline,
loaded with layers of cheese, toppings, and chunky tomato sauce. Then there’s tavernstyle, the real hometown favorite: a thin, crisp, square-cut pie born in South Side bars,
made to be shared with a cold beer and good company. Both styles are rooted in the same
Chicago spirit—unpretentious, bold, and built to satisfy.
Chi-Pie is my way of sharing that legacy with you. So whether it’s your first time trying
deep dish or you grew up eating tavern-style on the South Side, I hope you enjoy a slice
of what Chicago means to me.

***THE BEST CHICAGO DEEP DISH PIZZA IN KENTUCKY/INDIANA/OHIO***
I'm a deep dish expert, I've eaten at every one of the big restaurants in Chicago. Let me tell you... This pie absolutely knocked my socks off, and I cannot believe it's located in a "hole-in-the wall" building in Simpsonville KY. Holy smokes, I'd eat this pie if it was served in a porta-potty! Service was great and I took the pizza home to try it. The sauce was insane! I just can't get over this pie.

Tbh my cousins said this place opened up near them and the owner was from Chicago. They said the food smacked and I believe them (one of them is a Michelin Star chef) so I wanted to rate this place because I’m also from Chicago and I know ball.

We’ve only been there twice so far, but every visit has been great. The employees have been incredibly welcoming, including staff that weren’t even our servers, which really stands out.
We’ve only tried the deep dish, and while it may not be Chicago’s famous Lou Malnati’s, it is still a seriously good deep dish pie. The sauce is rich, flavorful, and loaded with chunks of tomato that taste fresh. The crust, cheese, and overall flavor were excellent both times.
Chi Pie is a hidden gem in Simpsonville, KY, and we’ll definitely be back.
